GENERAL INFORMATION
The Southern Annual Recreation Workshop (SARW) is designed for those interested in developing skills in recreation leadership, particularly in church-related settings. Ministers, DCE’s, youth workers, children’s ministry coordnators, youth grades 10 – 12 in leadership roles, collegiates, and all other interested leaders are welcome to attend. SARW is designed for registered participants only! SARW is endorsed by the Annual Recreation Workshop of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) held in Montreat, N.C., each May.
SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
Our '10 event begins with registration on Friday evening, February 26th at Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center in York, South Carolina. York is located about 25 miles from Charlotte, NC. The event will conclude at noon on Sunday, February 28th. The registration fee includes housing in cabin-style houses, meals, the Friday night event through Sunday worship, and tuition.
Special features included in SARW, in addition to three two-hour workshop sessions, are creative worship, theme parties, dancing, a bonus Dutch Oven Cooking workshop, sing-a-longs, table games, creative art and craft activities,a country store and bookstore, a snack bar, the SARW Auction, and Fun! Fun! Fun!
The workshop is designed so that every aspect of the event provides ideas and resources that you can take back home. Your confirmation letter will include a map, additional event details and schedule, and a list of things to bring. If you register on-line or include your e-mail address on your registration form, your confirmation will be sent via e-mail.
COST & REGISTRATION INFO FOR THE 2010 CONFERENCE
Conference costs, including room and board and all workshops $150.
Deposit of $75 secures your space @ SARW only if your balance is paid by February 1st, 2010.
Registrations received after February 1st must be accompanied by full payment
Register and pay by December 15th for a chance at a "washer" game.
Payments are by check or on-line via Paypal.
For each new participant you bring to SARW, we will give you 25 blue light tickets, giving you chances for fabulous prizes at the SARW auction.
Special incentives for groups! If you bring and pay for a group of 5 or more, you will receive $75 off your group’s total cost. If you bring a group of 10 or more, you will receive $150 off your group’s total cost. The entire group must be paid for in one payment in order to qualify.
HOUSING INFO
Housing is in comfortable cabins with four bunks to a room. Youth and other persons on scholarships may be housed on upper bunks as part of the discounted price.
